Police Searching for Thief Posing As Maintenance Man - Barrow Patch The thief enters commercial businesses posing as a maintenance employee and then steals women's wallets, according to a Winder Police Department news release. The department is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect.  The man is described by witnesses as a heavy set, middle-aged black male wearing gold-rimmed eye glasses. 8-Year-Old Among I-575 Fatalities - Canton-Sixes Patch One of two people killed in an afternoon crash that temporarily shutdown Interstate 575 South was 8 years old, the spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department said this evening. Just before 2 p.m. Monday, Abraham Fernandez-Zuniga of Acworth was driving a red 2001 Chrysler Town and Country minivan northbound on I-575 with the 8-year-old passenger in tow. At the same time, Earldean Clayton of Rex was driving southbound on I-575 in a white 2007 International 7600 commercial vehicle. Gwinnett BOC To Begin Town Hall Meetings in April

The initial session will be in Lawrenceville. More town halls are promised.

The Gwinnett Board of Commissioners will begin a series of town hall meetings soon. The first will be held on Tuesday, April 2, beginning at 6:15 p.m. with an open house. A discussion session will be held at 7 p.m. The initial session will be held at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse, located at 185 Crogan Street in Lawrenceville. According to a county newsletter, representatives from county departments will be at the open house to answer your questions and discuss services they provide. Beginning at 7 pm, the commissioners invite you to share your thoughts and ideas about Gwinnett services. Mother, Man Plead Guilty in Gwinnett Meth Lab Blast

Three children were killed in the February 2011 fire on Spring Mill Drive in Lilburn.

A mother and man accused in a fatal math lab explosion in Lilburn in 2011 have pleaded guilty, just days before their trial was set to begin. According to WSB-TV, the pair -- Neibi Brito and Joseph Perez -- accepted plea deal in court Wednesday. Before Judge Melodie Snell Conner, they were sentenced to 50 years, the report said. The victims in the February 2011 explosion were: 21-month-old Stacy Brito, 3-year-old Jose Ivan Guevara and 4-year-old Isaac Guevara. Another man, Ivan Gonzalez, was also charged with murder and drug trafficking in the case. But, he has eluded capture. See also:

Deceased Man Identified in Train-Car Wreck in Gwinnett

A train struck a car and a man on the railroad tracks Tuesday near Buford Highway and Amwiler Road in Gwinnett County, according to police. One man has died and another man remains in critical condition.

The man who died in Tuesday's train-car collision in Gwinnett County has been identified. Lawrenceville resident Tony Lungaro, 51, died after being struck by a train around 4:55 p.m. on March 12 near Buford Highway in Peachtree Corners, according to Gwinnett Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith. Lungaro was the passenger in a white 2003 Ford 150 that was being driven by Lorenzo Wilkerson, 40, of Riverdale. They were traveling south on Buford Highway as a bronze 2003 Chevrolet Astrovan, driven by 25-year-old Lawrenceville resident Severin Gluschak, was traveling north on the same road. Police say Gluschak attempted to turn left onto Amwiler Road in Peachtree Corners, but the car failed to yield and turned in front of the Ford, causing a …
