Police: Suicide, Stabbing Reported After Argument near Snellville

The incident took place at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, May 12.

Police believe a man stabbed his girlfriend, then shot himself in the head after an apparent domestic argument early Sunday morning in unincorporated Snellville. The woman, who was stabbed in the back, survived the attack, but the man died, according to a media alert emailed by Gwinnett Police Cpl. Michele Pihera. “The death of the male is being investigated as a suicide. The female is not a suspect in his death,” Pihera reported. The incident occurred after midnight Sunday morning, May 12, in the 3800 block of White Pine Road, near the intersection of Centerville Rosebud Road and Lenna Drive. Dacula Man Says He Was Threatened With Gun During Road Rage Confrontation

Incident started on I-85 and ended in a Dacula subdivision.

A Dacula man said he was threatened with a gun after an angry motorist followed him to his Meridian Drive home on May 2. The man, who was a passenger in the family's vehicle along with his two young sons, said his wife, the driver, passed a slow moving Nissan Quest on I-85. According to the man, the driver of the Nissan Quest then sped up and began flashing his high beams at them. The Quest driver then allegedly followed the family to their Dacula home. The man told his wife and children to stay in the car while he spoke with the other motorist. Drug Investigation Turns Up Counterfeit Operation in Loganville

Two Loganville women face 2nd degree forgery charges after a narcotics search warrant allegedly revealed counterfeit currency and materials used to produce counterfeit currency.

Gwinnett County Police Department confirm that Kristin Carter Barr and Tara Ray Ritter, both of 3215 Wrenwood Court, Loganville, were arrested on April 30 and charged with 2nd degree forgery. According to the GCPD incident report, members of the Gwinnett County Narcotics Unit served a search warrant at the address in Loganville. During the search, methamphetamine residue allegedly was located as well as counterfeit currency and the materials used to produce counterfeit currency. GCPD public information officer, Cpl. Jake Smith, said the investigation is ongoing. He said it is part of a drug investigation, not a larger forgery or fraud investigation. Police: Mableton Couple Drove Truck Around Atlanta with Dead Grandfather Inside

That "voluntary admission" is contained in Cobb County criminal warrants for Casey Collins and Sarah Cook, who face felony murder charges in connection with the death of Edward Smith.

The Mableton woman charged in the murder of a 78-year-old Lilburn man admitted that she and the man's grandson "are responsible for his death" and drove the dead man's truck around metro Atlanta with his body still inside the vehicle. That "voluntary admission" is contained in Cobb County criminal warrants for Mableton residents Casey Ryan Collins and Sarah Elizabeth Cook, who face felony murder charges in connection with the death of Edward Smith. Collins, 30, is Smith's grandson. Cook, 23, is Collins' girlfriend. According to Cook's admission, Smith was in his parked truck in the driveway of a residence at 365 Kemolay Road last Thursday morning when she and Collins "assaulted" him. Police Arrest Gwinnett Man Wanted on Sodomy, Rape Charges

Joseph Tyler Sivonda, a suspected serial rapist, was taken into custody Thursday after a week of police searching for him.

After a week of searching for him, Gwinnett County Police have apprehended a suspected serial rapist from the Norcross area. Joseph Tyler Sivonda, 23, was taken into custody Thursday morning (May 9), according to a news release from police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith. "A team of Gwinnett County Police Department detectives, U.S. Marshals, and deputies from the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit located Sivonda at an apartment in Duluth," continued Smith. He was staying with Tiffany Martin, 30, who also was arrested and charged with hindering the apprehension of a felon. Sivonda is currently in custody at the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond. Sivonda was wanted on two counts of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated …

GCPS Teacher Arrested on a Charge of Sexual Assault

The teacher resigned Monday, May 6, as a result of an investigation into an alleged incident involving a student.

A Mountain View High School teacher is facing a charge of sexual assault in connection with an alleged inappropriate relationship with a student. According to Gwinnett County Public Schools Director of Media Relations Jorge Quintana, Mountain View High School mathematics teacher Thomas Frederick Grimshaw, of 2840 Ashton Tree Court in Dacula, resigned Monday, May 6, as a result of a human resources investigation into the alleged relationship. Grimshaw, who had been with the district since August 2006, was booked into the jail on May 8 on a charge of sexual assault. Bond has not been set. Read the full story on Dacula Patch. Gwinnett Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Starlight Drive-In Shooting

A DeKalb County judge sentenced Quentric Williams May 8.

A DeKalb County judge has sentenced a Lilburn man to life in prison for a 2012 murder. Quentric Williams received the sentence May 8, six days after he was found guilty of killing Mitt Lenix at the Starlight Drive-In Theater in Atlanta. He was convicted of 8 of 10 counts, including malice murder and aggravated assault. He was sentenced to life in prison, plus 15 years, according to 11Alive. See also: Don’t miss any Lilburn news. Harbins Park Storage Building Burglarized, Two ATVs Stolen

Other equipment in the storage building was not taken.

Gwinnett County Police are searching for leads in an April 30 burglary at Harbins Park. Police were contacted after an individual noticed two all-terrain vehicles -- a Polaris 250 and a Honda 300 -- were missing from a storage building. According to the GCPD report, there were no signs of forced entry. Though the storage area contained other expensive equipment, nothing else was taken. According to My Fox Atlanta, the ATVs are the property of Andy Fullard, the baseball director of the Archer Athletic Association. The ATVs were used to help groom and maintain the baseball fields. Missing Gwinnett Man Found Dead Inside Truck in South Cobb County

The man was identified as 78-year-old Edward Smith, of Lilburn, according to news reports. Missing since Thursday, Smith's body was discovered May 7 at approximately 8:18 p.m., officials said. The man's grandson, Casey Collins, is one of two people being held on a felony murder charge in connection with his death. Sarah Cook, Collins' girlfriend, also is charged.
