Beautiful Collie Mix Looking for Loving Home

Young female dog has been spayed, micro-chipped, up to date on her shots and ready for adoption through the Angels Among Us Pet Rescue group.

Meet Tiana, a female Collie-mix, who is approximately seven (7) months old and weighs 25 pounds.

She has been spayed, micro-chipped, up to date on all her shots and vetting. Tiana is also crate-trained and sleeps in her crate all night with no problems or potty accidents and is almost completely house trained. She still has an occasional accident but is about 80 percent trained.

She would do well with a family who is home and can take her outside often enough to reinforce her potty training. This young pup loves children, is good with other dogs, is "interested" in cats but shows no aggression towards them.

Her foster says the only "problem" she has is being excited when meeting people and wanting to jump up, in true excited puppy fashion, to give them kisses and greetings! With a bit of time and patience, she will learn that she must wait to get her kisses and hugs in at the proper time.

Tiana has had a bit of a rough time in her very short life, as she was found as a "stray" and brought into a rural animal control shelter. We think she must have had a bit of a scare and bad experience with a truck because she's very scared of trucks and buses that go by when she's being walked.

With time, lots of love and reassurance from her family, she will be able to gain confidence and this should no longer be an issue once she knows she's safe and her person/family will always protect her.

When she came to the shelter, Tiana appeared to have a slight injury on her right front leg and limped a bit when she walked but this did not stop her from being a very loving, sweet girl with the shelter staff.

Unfortunately, she sat in the shelter for a month with this injury before she was rescued by Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. Once they were able to get her to the vet's office, they found she had an embedded rubber band on her leg that had apparently been there for months. In fact, it had been there so long, her skin and bone had developed around the band. Even though it has been removed, it left a groove in her leg bone but the good news is she is no longer in pain and the vet says since she's so young, the groove left by someone's cruel act will fill in within a few months.

Today, Tiana is totally healed, her leg and paw are fine, and she runs and plays with no problems or pain whatsoever! She's very grateful for that because this little girl is very playful, and loves giving kisses and rolling over for belly rubs! Kids are her absolute favorite! She is very smart, picks up tricks and commands quickly and is working on her "sit," "stay," "rollover" and "come" commands. She is a chewer because she's still a pup, and she loves chewing on her bones and toys.

Tiana can be a bit on the shy side when first meeting adults, but after a few moments, she warms up and is interested in getting to know everyone. The best home for this little girl would be an active home with children and another doggy playmate!

She will also need a family who is patient and willing to work with her, training her on not jumping up on humans, and also to finish her potty training. A fenced in, secure backyard is also needed because she's still a curious pup and loves to explore as well as run around and play, so she needs to know she's safe and secure in her world.

Most of all, Tiana needs a loving heart who will give her the warmth, love, care and security she never received during the first months of her life. Are YOU that person she's longing to find?
