Two Gwinnett Players on Atlanta Women's Pro Football Roster

The women's league formerly known as the Lingerie Football League plans to debut in Gwinnett in April.

The women's football league that plans to open play in April 2013 in Gwinnett has evolved further. It has completed its roster, which includes two players from Gwinnett, and named a head coach.

The Legends Football League, which until recently was known as the Lingerie Football League, has announced the roster for the Atlanta Steam on its website. Alexandria Stone from Snellville and Ashley Johnson from Lawrenceville are included.

Also, former Arena Football League player Ray Norell is the head coach.

The roster includes 20 players. In the LFL, football is seven on seven, with no kickoffs, punts or field goals.

The Atlanta franchise will debut in the Gwinnett Arena on Saturday, April 13, vs. Omaha. Tickets are $15-75, according to the information on the Gwinnett Arena events calendar. A second Steam game is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, vs. Cleveland.

to brand itself as more than a gimmick. Uniforms now are labeled as "performance wear."

Also on the LFL website, power rankings had the Atlanta team as No. 9 in the 12-team league, although the Steam is a first-year team.
