Gwinnett Players Selected in MLB First-Year Player Draft

The Major League Baseball's first-year draft began on June 6, and three Gwinnett County high school players were selected.

In the first evening of the MLB's First-Year Player Draft, the three guys-to-watch from Gwinnett County were selected.

Clint Frazier, an outfielder who recently graduated from Loganville High School, was the No. 5 pick overall. He was drafted by the Cleveland Indians.

Austin Meadows, an outfielder who recently graduated from Grayson High School, was the No. 9 pick overall. He was drafted by the Pirates.

Josh Hart, an outfielder who recently graduated from Parkview High School, was the 37th pick overall. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles.

Each of the aforementioned players also have commitments to attend and play at colleges: Frazier at University of Georgia, Meadows at Clemson University, and Hart at Georgia Tech.

So, now each player must decide whether to play in college, or go to the pros.
