Golf Tournament Offers Chance to Play With the Pros

Some of the top PGA players will be in town next week for the Greater Gwinnett Championship. Gwinnett golfers have a chance to play with the pros at the pro-am.

 

The first PGA Championship in several years is rolling into town next week - the Greater Gwinnett Championship played on the TPC Sugarloaf is scheduled for April 19-21.

But before the pros tee off on Friday, amateurs have a chance to play in the pro-am of the Championship Tour event on Wednesday and Thursday.

A field of nearly 80 PGA professional golfers have committed to playing on the Greg Norman-designed golf course that hosted the BellSouth Classic for a number of years.

This year, amateur golfers have the chance to be paired with past Masters champions including:

  • Mark O'Meara, 1998
  • Larry Mize, 1987
  • Ben Crenshaw, 1984
  • Craig Stadler, 1982
  • Tom Watson, 1981 and 1977

The price to play with the pros isn't cheap but golfers not only enjoy 18 holes on the Sugarloaf course, there are a few other perks to plucking down $3,250:

Pro-am pairs amateur foursomes with a different Champions Tour professional each day in a best ball of the five player team format.

For the price you will not only have the chance to play with one of the legends of the game, but the following tournament amenities are thrown in:

  • One (1) playing spot on Wednesday or Thursday
  • One (1) Participant Badge
  • One (1) Participant Guest Badge
  • Ten (10) Weekly Clubhouse Badges
  • Twenty (20) Any One Day Passes
  • One (1) Clubhouse Parking Pass for Wednesday and/or Thursday
  • One (1) invitation for the Tuesday evening Kickoff Party (each invitation is good for two people)
