Gwinnett County Has Georgia's 7 Largest High Schools

According to the Georgia High School Association's enrollment counts, Mill Creek has the most students in grades 9-12.

The Georgia High School Association counts seven of its 450 member schools as having more than 3,000 students in grades 9-12.

All seven reside in Gwinnett County.

The GHSA reclassified its schools Monday for the purposes of sports and forensic competitions over the next two school years.

According to GHSA’s count, Mill Creek is the state’s largest school, with 3,708 students, and will continue to compete in Class 6A, as will 16 other Gwinnett schools.

Class 6A

  • Mill Creek, 3,708; Norcross, 3,649; Berkmar, 3,376; Brookwood, 3,372; Peachtree Ridge, 3,204; Meadowcreek, 3,119; Collins Hill, 3,075; Parkview, 2,820; Duluth, 2,661; Central Gwinnett, 2,636; Grayson, 2,631; North Gwinnett, 2,594; South Gwinnett, 2,405; Archer, 2,305; Shiloh, 2,177; Mountain View, 2,013; Dacula, 1,927.

Class 5A

  • Lanier, 1,615.

Class 4A

  • Buford, 1,141 (moves up from Class 3A).

Class 2A

  • Greater Atlanta Christian, 725; Wesleyan, 455.

Class 1A

  • Hebron Christian, 334; Providence Christian, 292

This is the first step in the GHSA’s process of realigning schools every two years.

Schools will be divided into regions in early December, then finalized in January.
