GCPS Enrollment to Exceed Projections

The district expects to be within 1 percent of projections.

Gwinnett County Public Schools expects the post- Labor Day enrollment numbers to be higher than expected -- but just by 1 percent.

School officials anticipate district enrollment peaking at 166,667 students on Sept. 3, when the next count will be completed.

"District planners do expect district enrollment will exceed the forecast next week, remaining within 1 percent of the forecast by the day after Labor Day," officials said in an email.

At 166,667 students, the district's population would be a difference of 333 students from this week's count, completed on Aug. 13. Tthe district reported 166,334 students then.
