Peachtree Corners City Hall Open House Planned for Sunday

Gwinnett County's newest city opens the doors to the public to tour its first city hall on Sunday, Jan. 6. A drop-in reception is scheduled for 1-4 p.m.

A lot has happened in Peachtree Corners over the past year.

Fourteen months ago 19 candidates threw their collective hats in the ring for one of the city's six city council seats; six months ago the community officially became Gwinnett County's 16th city on July 1, 2012. And now the city leaders are celebrating the opening of City Hall and would like to share the day with its citizens.

The public is invited to an open house on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2012 at its new City Hall from 1 - 4 p.m. During the drop-in reception community leaders who were instrumental in the founding of the new city will be recognized.

And city leaders will also reveal the City of Peachtree Corners' new logo and tagline.

"We would love to see the community turn out for this first event in our new space," said the city's mayor, Mike Mason. "We've spent the last six months getting ready for this, and it's a big step for our new city."

City Council and its staff of three, Julian Jackson, City Manager, Diana Wheeler, Community Development Director, and Kym Chereck, City Clerk, began using the new space last month.

Along with the reception and debut of the new logo, Peachtree Corners Boy Scout Troup 1963 will present the colors.

The logo was designed by Lawrenceville-based Accent Creative Group. The logo will appear on official city documents, marketing materials, street signs and banners.

Peachtree Corners City Hall is located at 147 Technology Parkway, Suite 200. Visit the city's website for additional information.
