City officials are beginning a new year, but don't want residents to forget about accomplishments in 2012.
In the city's recent newsletter, officials touted a number of highlights that took place in Lilburn last year. These include the new Bryson Park opening, plans for a new city hall complex, Lilburn City Park enhancements, and more.

- Bryson Park Opening: Residents can now enjoy 71 acres of trails, football, soccer, playgrounds and more.
- : Construction is expected to begin this summer on the new City Hall plans. It is a joint project between Gwinnett County and the city of Lilburb, and is estimated to cost $10 million. It is funded by the SPLOST one-cent sales tax.
- Downtown Development Authority Property Acquisition: Some 7.5 acres at the new intersection of Main Street and Lawrenceville Highway were acquired last year. This creates a large tract for possible shopping and restaurants in the future. Also the 37-acre former Jackson Creek Water Treatment Facility was purchased in 2012 and is slated for the Big League Dreams baseball tournament complex.
