Did you know that Gwinnett County has 46 parks for its citizens to enjoy? Here's a lineup from Gwinnett Parks & Recreation for the month with activities and events and other happenings.

 

There are two Gwinnett County parks located within the city limits of Peachtree Corners, Jones Bridge Park and Holcomb Bridge Park. And Pinckneyville Community Center and Park is located nearby in Berkeley Lake. Following is a list of activites that include activities in all of the county's 46 parks for December.

December 1, 8:30am-10:30am – Breakfast with Santa

You and your kids will enjoy a continental breakfast with Santa in the Superior Court Ballroom. A visit with the Big Elf himself and a keepsake photo included for $9/person. December 1, 10:00am-noon – H.O.O.K.E.D. Teen Club Meeting

Free! Teens~ you can make a difference! Join the challenge in drug and alcohol prevention with H.O.O.K.E.D. (Helping Others Organize Kreative Everyday Differences). H.O.O.K.E.D. teens are trained as leaders in their community and assist with a variety of exciting activities and events throughout the county. Bring your list and sit on Santa’s knee! Kick off your Holiday season with breakfast, jolly old elf, fun crafts, sharing your wish list, and getting pictures with your favorite man in the red suit, Santa Claus himself! December 3-31 ­– Gwinnett Plein Air Challenge Tour

Free! Enjoy the art of amateur artists, who have been meeting each month since March in a Plein Air Challenge to paint the scenery at several Gwinnett County Park & Recreation locations. “Plein air” literally means “in the open air” and refers to the practice of outdoor, on-site painting. Gwinnett County Park & Recreation partnered with Tannery Row Artist Colony in Buford, so that over 100 pieces were submitted and judged by a selected panel. The winning selections are on display at Bethesda Park Senior Center, 225 Bethesda Church Rd., Lawrenceville to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Gwinnett County Park & Recreation as a countywide park system.

 

December 4, 6:30pm – Night Ride

Ready for a new mountain biking experience? How about an exciting night ride! SORBA night ride rules apply. Bike and/or rider must have head and tail lights. Ride is for beginners to experienced. Free Admission! Come sell your homemade arts and craft items just in time for the holidays!  All kinds of custom items will be available because no commercial vendors are allowed.
