Possible Drug Deal Gone Amok Leaves Two Men Wounded

Two men were arrested in connection to what police believe was a drug deal gone bad in Lawrenceville.

According to the Gwinnett County Docket Book and Lawrenceville Police reports, 22-year-old Roger Flint Ford, of Lawrenceville, and Leo Harvey were arrested in the incident, which resulted in two men being shot multiple times.

Officers met with the two victims, a 22-year-old and 35-year-old from Tennessee, at Gwinnett Medical Center after the alleged shooting Feb. 3. The younger man was shot eight times in the lower abdomen, groin and legs, and the older man was hit seven times in the legs and wrist.

They told police that they were visiting Lawrenceville to meet with the younger man's cousin, Ford, whom he hadn't seen in more than 13 years. The younger man said that they made plans to hang out and have a few beers with Ford at Alexander Mill Apartments, located on the 100 block of Paper Mill Road in Lawrenceville.

As the two from Tennessee pulled into the parking lot, though, Ford came over to his vehicle with an unknown man, who pulled out a silver revolver, according to the victims. They demanded that the two give them "everything they had," but instead of complying, they threw their car in reverse and attempted to drive away.

The armed suspect began shooting at them, the cousin told police, and both men were hit. Despite the multiple gunshot wounds, the older man was able to drive them to the hospital.
