Gwinnett School Has Windows Smashed, Fire Extinguishers Emptied

Inside the Police Blotter: The chemicals from the extinguishers were spread throughout the elementary school in Lilburn.

A break-in was reported at Mountain Park Elementary earlier this month that involved suspects emptying fire extinguishers and smashing glass windows.

The incident occurred from 9:31 p.m. to 10:13 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, according to the Gwinnett County Police report. Officers met with Principal Valerie Robinett and the Gwinnett Fire Department, who advised that they received an alarm at the school.

They discovered that unknown suspects had broken the tempered glass at the rear door, entered the building and emptied three fire extinguishers, which had spread the chemical throughout the school.
