Shooting Homicide in Peachtree Corners May be Drug-Related

Gwinnett Police are investigating the death of a male whose body was discovered at a hotel on Jimmy Carter Boulevard.

A man was shot and killed at a Peachtree Corners motel early Friday morning.

Corporal Edwin Ritter, Gwinnett Police spokesman, said in an emailed press release sent around noon Friday that the homicide is "believed to be drug-related at this time."

Ritter wrote that police were called to the Homestead Extended Stay motel on Jimmy Carter Boulevard at 1:20 a.m. Friday.

When police arrived they "discovered a black male laying in the breezeway of the 100 building with multiple gunshot wounds."

The man has been identified as Eric Marshall.

"He died on scene as a result of being shot," said Ritter in the release. "Mr. Marshall is believed to be either 31 or 32 years of age and recently moved to the area, possibly from California.

Gwinnett County Police Homicide unit is investigating the shooting death.
