Police: Lottery-Ticket Bandit Caught on Camera

The man is suspected in two recent incidents, including one where he cashed in stolen lottery tickets in the Decatur area.

Lilburn Police believe that two recent burglaries are the work of one suspect, and they are looking for the public's help in identifying the culprit.

The first incident occurred Feb. 15 at the Shell Gas Station along Lawrenceville Highway in Lilburn.

According to a Lilburn Police Department press release, an unknown suspect tried to smash the front glass door to break into the business.

In the second incident, on March 14, police said there was a burglary at the Texaco Gas Station located at 4785 Lawrenceville Highway. Numerous scratch-off lottery tickets were stolen, officials said.

Investigators later discovered that the suspect captured in surveillance video in Lilburn was likely the same person caught on video cashing in stolen lottery tickets in Decatur.

Based on the surveillance video, police determined that the suspect is driving a small unknown white four-door sedan, with no hubcaps, and with the right front quarter panel painted in Black or Gray primer.

The suspect is described as a tall, slender, dark-skinned black male with a shaved head and no facial hair. In the video, the suspect was wearing a bright red shirt and blazer jacket.
