Parkview High Student Robbed on the Street

Three students were walking near Pucketts Drive when they saw four men running toward them.

A Parkview High School student said he was robbed after he and his friends encountered four men while walking to a friend's house in Lilburn.

According to the Gwinnett County police report, the 17-year-old boy told police that he and two other students, both 14, were walking to their friend's house on Rock Haven Drive near Pucketts Drive around 10:30 p.m. on recent Saturday.

They saw a white passenger car drive up and down the street several times. As he and his friends approached Rock Haven Place, he saw a man standing at the intersection. The man called to them and said "Hey, you, come over here," according to the report.

As they walked up to the man, three other men ran out from behind a tree at them. One of them had what looked like a taser with a red laser in his hands.

The older teen yelled at his friends to run, and they backed up to Rock Haven Drive. The eldest ran, too, but he he dropped his backpack because he felt it was slowing him down. He looked back and saw one of the suspects pick it up, get into the white car with the other suspects and drive away.

Although he didn't know the other suspects, the victim told police he recognized the first suspect from McDonald's.

The student said the bookbag cost $50. Nothing of value was inside.
