Norcross-Area Businesses Report Broken Windows, Stolen Cash

A few laundry and food marts in the city of Norcross and unincorporated Norcross reported burglaries during the month of December.

At least a handful of businesses in the Norcross area reported burglaries during the month of December.

According to police reports, two of the incidents were attempted thefts with nothing reported stolen, and the other burglaries involved taking money from electric massage chairs at laundromats.

The laundromat incidents took place within days and street blocks of one another. One of the burglaries occurred around 12:33 a.m. Dec. 17 at No. 1 Coin Laundry, located at 6000 Singleton Rd. in unincorporated Norcross. Surveillance footage shows a rock shattering the door and two men entering the business.

They attempted to open the cash register and an office inside the laundromat, but did not succeed. They were able to pry open two boxes of cash from vending massage chairs, though.
