News Report: Gwinnett County Homicide Rate Doubles

There were four homicides reported in less than a 48-hour period in Gwinnett County.

Four homicides over the weekend doubled Gwinnett County's rate this year of such crimes, according to a news report.

Until recently, 11Alive reported that the homicide number sat at three over a span of seven months, and that the county was on pace for six total in 2013.

That changed Saturday. Here's a list of the homicides over the past few days:

Saturday, July 27 -- Sun Hee Choi, 59, and her husband Young Chan Choi, 63, were found stabbed to death at their Duluth home. Police arrested and charged Ki Song Kim, 45 with the homicides.

Sunday, July 28 -- The body of a deceased male was found at Bella Vista Apartments in Duluth. The man was later identified as Darinel Martinez Lopez, 26.

Monday, July 29 -- Police responded to the Celadon Apartments in Norcross, where they found one man dead and another seriously injured. The deceased man was later identified as Steven Carden of Marietta.

Police are continuing to investigate.
