Gwinnett SWAT Team Called to Norcross-Area Home

Update, 9:35 p.m.: Gwinnett Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith told Norcross Patch that the SWAT team has entered the home and is looking for the suspect.

The domestic dispute starting approximately at 4:38 p.m. The woman in the dispute exited the home, but the man refused to leave, according to Smith.

Officers spent two hours trying to get him out, but he still wouldn't leave, so a SWAT call was activated. No one else is in the home with him, and he is believed to be unarmed.

Smith added that the man has outstanding warrants for other family violence incidents, including cruelty to children in the second degree and terroristic threats, but it's not confirmed if any of those incidents involved the woman in the latest dispute.

A SWAT team has been called to assist in an incident where a man has barricaded himself in residence Wednesday evening in unincorporated Norcross.

According to Gwinnett County Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith, the call started as a domestic dispute on the 1400 block of Reddington Lane near Singleton Road.

"The male half of the argument barricaded himself inside the residence," Smith said.

The SWAT team has been activated for the barricaded subject.
