Chase Bank in Duluth Robbed With Bomb-Threat Note

Suspect matches description, used same MO as suspect in earlier robbery of Chase Bank in unincorporated Duluth.

A suspect who robbed the Chase Bank at 2697 Old Peachtree Road in the Duluth city limits Tuesday (April 9) afternoon matches the description and used the same MO (modus operandi) as a suspect in the Feb. 18 robbery of the Chase Bank at 3780 Old Norcross Road in unincorporated Duluth. The latest robbery occurred about 2:47 p.m. Tuesday.

Duluth Police Det. Fran Foster confirmed that the suspect handed the teller a note that claimed he had a bomb and demanded money like in the earlier robbery. The suspect left on foot after obtaining about $3,000, she said.

She described the suspect as a white male, age 45-65, 5’11” to 6 in’ height, and weighing 200 to 220 lbs. He was wearing jeans, a T-shirt, a watch cap pulled over his ears, and dark sunglasses. This is similar to the suspect described in a BOLO issued by Gwinnett County Police for the robbery of the Chase Bank in unincorporated Duluth.
