A Gainesville man remains in Forsyth County Jail on charges stemming from the incidents.

The crimes appeared to begin in Forsyth County's Ivey Walk subdivision early on Friday, Aug. 17. The suspect allegedly stole a family member's Chevy Tahoe and two handguns – one of which was recovered from the suspect when he was arrested several days later in Sandy Springs.

Crimes Begin in Alpharetta

Early Friday afternoon, the BeJewel store in Alpharetta was the scene of an armed robbery. A man walked in at 12:45 p.m. and when the only employee present came out of the back of the store, he pulled a handgun and told her to open the register. He took cash out of the register and told the employee not to call police and that he'd be watching her for five minutes.

Teen Waiting to Drive Dad Home Carjacked from Mall

At 8:30 p.m., a 16-year-old girl was outside Van Maur at in the family's Kia Soul to pick her father up from work. The suspect approached her and said she had dropped something to distract her, using that distraction to take her keys and grab her. He then forced her to take him on a harrowing ride, during which he screamed at her, hit her with a handgun in the back of the head and pointed it at her, threatening to kill her, according to Alpharetta police incident reports.
