Burglar Uses Car to Smash Glass Doors of Convenience Store

Suspect is shown on surveillance video removing register drawer.

Instead of opting for the traditional hammer or brick, a burglar decided to go a more unconventional route and use his vehicle to smash the front glass doors of a Dacula convenience store.

At 3:01 a.m. on March 23, Gwinnett County Police were dispatched to the Fast Trip convenience store on Winder Highway in response to a burglar alarm. Upon arrival, the officer discovered the smashed glass doors, but no one was on the premises.

A representative of the business arrived a short time later and played the surveillance footage. Security cameras showed a red passenger car pull into the parking lot at 2:57 a.m. The car backed into the front glass doors until the glass shattered. The driver then pulled forward and parked the vehicle.

"The perpetrator, a black male, got out of the vehicle and jumped through the open door," the officer wrote in the report. "The perpetrator walked around the counter and went directly to the register, pulled the register, removed the register drawer and left the business."
