Body Found in Lilburn-Area Home Fire

The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's Office will release the name after a positive identification has been made.

The body an adult male was found at the scene of a deadly fire overnight that destroyed a home in Lilburn.

according to Ted Bailey, an investigator with the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's Office.

The cause of the fire in the 200 block of Edith Lane has not been determined, but fire officials said in a press release Monday morning that there were "no signs of foul play."

"The blaze is currently listed as undetermined under active investigation by the fire department," Capt Tommy Rutledge, in the press release.

Firefighters found the home fully engulfed in flames when they arrived just after midnight Monday morning.

Once inside, firefighters found the victim in a corner room, according to the press release.
