4 Arrested in Lawrenceville Gambling Bust

Three Lawrenceville residents and one Snellville man were arrested on charges related to illegal gambling being run out of a Lawrenceville business.

Gwinnett County Police arrested four people following a gambling bust at a Lawrenceville restaurant.

According to GCPD Cpl. Jake Smith, the Vice Unit executed a search warrant at Mike's Mexican Grill on Cruse Rd. Thursday. Inside the restaurant, investigators found electronic gambling machines that were giving out cash payouts for winning, which is illegal in the state of Georgia. 

The restaurant's owner Naveed Ahmed of Snellville was arrested and charged with keeping a gambling place, possession of gambling devices and commercial gambling.
