10 Places Gwinnettians Could have Flown To... Last Week

Gwinnett Airport has an amazing secret, residents nearby can catch a direct flight from the little airport to destinations around the Southeast for as little as $39. Take a look at some places we've flown direct to very recently!

UPDATE: To apply for ImagineAir's standby program visit http://standby.flyimagineair.com/apply/ and use "PATCH" as your promo code for a quick invite.

These last few weeks at ImagineAir we've been busy accommodating customer flights all over the Southeast and up the east coast. The product of a busy flight schedule is not just more work for us, but more empty legs for our customers!

Empty legs are last minute flights with prices ranging from $39-249. Learn more here.

Gwinnett Airport being the company's headquarters and primary maintenance domicile its no surprise that many of our empty legs are from LZU. That means Gwinnett residents can hop in their own private plane and fly around the southeast for less than it would take to rent a car or even pay for their own gas! Without further ado, here are places Gwinnettians could have gone just last week:

Charlotte, NC ($129)

Charlotte is a popular business destination for ImagineAir customers, with a good number of flights departing and arriving from Charlotte every week! The spontaneous traveler might pick up a last minute Charlotte flight to go see the Hendrick Motorsports Complex, US National Whitewater Center or even one of our favorites, the Carolinas Aviation Museum!

Standby Price: $129
Flight Time: 1 hr
(prices include all taxes and fees and include up to four seats in the aircraft!)

Charleston, SC ($129)

Charleston is ImagineAir's second busiest domicile (outside of Atlanta) and is the most frequent empty route we fly. During a quick jaunt to Charleston, visitors might want to tour old downtown, check out the beach or visit Charleston Waterfront Park!

Standby Price: $129
Flight Time: 1 hr 18 min

Birmingham, AL ($89)

Birmingham has seen one of the biggest increases in air taxi business this year! Even so, flights are still admittedly infrequent. The increase is mostly business travel but we suspect some customers are also visiting attractions like Barber Motorsports Park, the Civil Rights institute and golfing at Renaissance Ross Bridge and Oxmoor Valley Golf courses!

Standby Price: $89
Flight Time: 54 min

St. Simons Island, GA ($129)

Saint Simons and the Brunswick Isles in South Georgia is ImagineAir's most popular vacation destination by far! Great golfing, fishing and beaches make the area a popular place to go. Gwinnett residents have the opportunity to fly many times per week during the busy months!

Standby Price: $129
Flight time: 1 hr 21 min

Atlanta,Kennesaw,Athens, GA ($39)

These flights are a hop, skip and a jump! Lawrenceville based aircraft often relocate short distances; for instance to PDK in Chamblee, RYY in Kennesaw and even to Atlanta-Hartsfield to pick up other passengers. These flights are the perfect opportunity to get a taste of small aircraft and the exclusive world of private aviation, maybe even getting that aerial view of your work or home. (Did we mention there are no lines, waits or security?) Just make sure to coordinate your ride back!

Standby Price: $39
Flight Time: 10-15 min

Jacksonville, FL ($199)

Jacksonville and Destin are ImagineAir's most popular Florida destinations for both business and pleasure travelers! Whether you are headed to the beach, Amelia Island or following the Falcons down to a Jaguars football game, there is no shortage of things to do in Jacksonville! Might be why it's such a popular destination.

Standby Price: $199
Flight Time: 1 hr 35 min

Chattanooga, TN ($89)

Air taxi traffic to and from Chattanooga has been on the rise as more business travelers take to the air. If you manage to catch an empty leg to this bustling Tennessee town, don't forget to visit the Tennessee Aquarium, Terminal Brewhouse or one of the many natural attractions like Rock City or Ruby Falls!

Standby Price: $89
Flight Time: 34 min

Augusta, GA ($89)

The medical field drives a lot of traffic into and out of Daniel Field and Augusta Regional; at least until the Masters tournament when the Georgia town becomes a Mecca for golfers. ImagineAir does pretty frequent business into both airports though making the town ideal for standby customers!

Standby Price: $89
Flight Time: 38 min

Raleigh, NC ($199)

Raleigh is ImagineAir's third pilot base and domicile which means company operations as well as customers drive empty legs between the two cities (Atlanta and Raleigh). While we do our best to limit these, the few that slip through make great empty flights. Travelers who grab the last minute leg may want to catch some great shopping, see the North Carolina Museum of Art, visit the campus of NC State or catch a Carolina Hurricanes game.

Standby Price: $199
Flight Time: 1 hr 45 min

Knoxville, TN ($89)

Knoxville traffic has also been on the rise putting empty legs to and from the city on our schedule as often as twice per week! The short flight connects travelers instantly to the University of Tennessee, Market Square, and the Tennessee Theatre among a number of popular attractions. Make sure to grab a drink at the Saw Works Brewery as well!

Standby Price: $89
Flight Time: 42 min
