Wind Warnings Issued Here Due to Hurricane Sandy
A High Wind Warning is in effect for the North Georgia Mountains; a Wind Advisory issued for Metro Atlanta.
Hurricane Sandy may be making landfall on the Jersey Shore, but the affects of the massive storm are being felt hundreds of miles away, even here in Gwinnett County.
With the storm moving inland, and coupled with high pressure building from the north, the National Weather Service has issued wind warnings into Tuesday evening for metro Atlanta and north Georgia.
A high wind warning, with sustained winds of 25-35 mph and gusts up to 55, is in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday for the north Georgia mountains.

A wind advisory, with gusts up to 40 mph, is in effect for the rest of central and northern Georgia, including Gwinnett County, also until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The wind could make driving hazardous, result in power outages and create hazardous conditions for boaters on area lakes, according to the weather service.

And with overnight temperatures expected in the low- to mid-30s, morning wild chills area expected to fall into the 20s.
