Police Searching for Thief Posing As Maintenance Man - Barrow Patch

The thief enters commercial businesses posing as a maintenance employee and then steals women's wallets, according to a Winder Police Department news release. The department is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect. 

The man is described by witnesses as a heavy set, middle-aged black male wearing gold-rimmed eye glasses. The man also matches descriptions and video images from similar incidents that took place this past weekend in Clarke County and Oconee County.

School Evacuated After Bomb Threat - Douglasville Patch

Students returned to class Wednesday afternoon at Chestnut Log Middle School after a bomb threat caused them to evacuate the school while deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Department and bomb-sniffing dogs searched the building.

The threat was emailed to the school's main office at between 10 and 10:30 a.m. Kids were evacuated and parents were immediately notified via their emergency contact method.

'Blind Side' House on the Market for $3.9M - Buckhead Patch

The Tuxedo Park house used as the home of the Tuohy family in the 2009 Oscar-nominated "The Blind Side" is on the market for $3.9 million.

The interior of the home, listed at 3394 Knollwood Drive NW, was used as the East Memphis home of the family, which famously took in teenaged Michael Oher, now a Baltimore Ravens linebacker.

Rabid Bat Found in Forsyth County Backyard - Cumming Patch

A rabid bat was discovered recently in the backyard of an east Forsyth County home located on Riverhaven Drive, according to the Forsyth County Health Department .

The homeowner's two dogs discovered the bat that was alive on March 10.
