Tractor-Trailer Slams Into Railroad Overpass - East Atlanta Patch

The stretch of East Confederate Avenue that was closed following a Wednesday evening incident in which a tractor trailer slammed into railroad crossing overpass has reopened. The accident resulted in the trailer being wedged under the bridge with its trailer being sliced in half.

A witness who said he was just three cars behind the truck, said the truck was "moving big time," and that there are a few noticeable cracks now on the bridge.

Man Trapped on Escalator After Foot Gets Stuck - Buckhead Patch

A man, who was at Phipps Plaza to work on the shopping center's sprinkler system, was rescued after getting his foot caught in one of the parking deck escalators.

According to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the man was carrying a ladder up the escalator when it slipped and created a wedge in the stairs of the escalator which is where the man's right foot became stuck.

It took Atlanta Firefighters an hour to remove his foot from the escalator using heavy equipment.

Clerk Shot in Murder-Suicide at Bartow's Barnsley Gardens Resort -Cartersville Patch

Bartow County authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide at an upscale resort near Cartersville.

Sheriff Clark Millsap said in a statement that deputies were called to Barnsley Gardens Resort near Adairsville at 2:40 a.m. to reports a female clerk had been shot. The man who allegedly shot her had fled into nearby woods.
