A Gracious Grayson Tea Party for Valentine's

The Yancey House in Grayson was the location for a special Valentine's Tea Party on Saturday, hosted by the Grayson Arts and History Center.

The place to be in Grayson on Saturday (February 9) was at the Yancey House, where the Arts and History Center hosted a Valentine's Tea Party.

Guests were treated to an afternoon tea in the tradition of British aristocracy with scones, fine foods and tea of the highest quality. The Yancy House was the perfect location, according to Barbara Hinkle, director of the Grayson Arts and History Center and wife of Grayson Mayor Jim Hinkle.

"Isn't this just beautiful," Hinkle said of the Yancey House. "We often have Tea Parties organized by the History Center, but this time we were able to have it here at the Yancey House."

Located on New Hope Road, the Yancey House has been renovated as an events facility. The home sits on 12 beautifully landscaped acres and is the epitome of Southern elegance - the perfect location for a Valentine's Tea Party.

Guests also were treated to music by Right Side Up, musical entertainers from the local area. In keeping with the Valentine's Day theme, the music performed was the music of love!

Hinkle said the tickets sold out fast for the Valentine Tea Party, but if you missed it this time, there is another one in the works for April.

"That one will be a Scarlett O'Hara theme," Hinkle said. "We even have a Scarlett O'Hara attending in full dress."

I disagree with a lot of your "gift choices"!!! The alike t-shirts are adorable,Read More especially in older couples, in my opinion, as obviously others cause they do it! My husband loves mugs and since we only run our dishwasher every couple days, he needs multiples (we also use for ice cream, soup and cracker snacks for grandchildren cause they can hold the handles easily!) white t-shirts are good for men to sleep in, or under dress shirts - a man always needs extra! Socks as well!! I agree a thoughtful, personalized gift is the best - but what is wrong with adding on some of these others as extras, or use because the man who has everything doesn't buy t-shirts, mugs or sock for himself!!!! Just my opinion, like the above is your opinion!! :-)
