2013 Dacula Memorial Day Parade: Honoring Those Who Gave All

Thousands line the streets of Dacula for the 20th annual parade.

Dacula Memorial Day parade founder Marvin Atherton was pleased to welcome thousands of spectators to the 20th annual Dacula Memorial Day parade.

"I'm very happy with the turnout," Atherton said.

He was also grateful for the perfect parade weather.

"God gave us a nice day," he said.

In total, the roughly two-hour long parade featured 159 entries. Though Atherton will likely take a few days to reflect on the success of this year's parade, his thoughts will soon turn to next year's event.

"Every year I strive to make it bigger and better, so the mind will start working in a couple of weeks for next year," he explained.
