Singer, Songwriter and Author Marshall Chapman to Perform at Library’s Fall Into the Arts 2013 Event

Duluth, GA – October 5, 2013

Gwinnett County Public Library will host singer, songwriter and author Marshall Chapman as part of its Fall Into The Arts 2013 program. Her songs have been recorded by artists ranging from Emmylou Harris and Joe Cocker to Irma Thomas and Jimmy Buffett. Chapman will perform in concert on Saturday, October 5, 2013, with a book signing following the concert.

Marshall Chapman has released thirteen critically acclaimed albums,highlighted by Blaze of Glory released in May 2013.  Chapman’s first book, Goodbye, Little Rock and Roller (St. Martin’s Press) was a SIBA bestseller 2004, SIBA Book Award finalist, and one of three finalists for the Southern Book Critics Circle Award. The book is now in its third printing.  She is also the author of They Came to Nashville, published in 2010 (Vanderbilt University Press) and a contributing editor toGarden & Gun and Nashville Arts Magazine.

This event will be held in partnership with Eddie Owen Presents @ Red Clay Theatre. The doors open at 1:00 PM; the concert begins at 2:00 PM.  The first 100 guests for the event are free with additional tickets on sale at the door for $18.  The event will take place at the Red Clay Theatre, located at 3116 Main Street, Duluth, GA 30096.

Gwinnett County Public Library and its partners invite the public to this annual celebration of the literary, performing, and visual arts.  A recent recipient of awards from the Georgia Arts Network, Urban Libraries Council and ArtWorks! Gwinnett, Fall Into The Arts seeks to foster a sense of community in Gwinnett County through jointly sponsored programs and to encourage a lifelong love of the arts, literacy, and learning.
