Gwinnett Georgia Retina physician named Top Doctor in Atlanta

Dr. Jay Stallman of the Gwinnett office of Georgia Retina (575 Professional Dr., Suite 330) one of the largest retina-only medical practices in the southeastern United States — was recently included in the prestigious Top Doctor national online listing by Castle Connolly healthcare research company.

Four additional Georgia Retina physicians joined Dr. Stallman as a Top Doctor honoree: Dr. Mark J. Rivellese was also named to the Top Doctor online listing, while Drs. Michael S. Jacobson, Scott I. Lampert, and Atul Sharma were named to the 2014 list of Top Doctors in the July issue of Atlanta magazine. With five physicians named, Georgia Retina is one of the few practices in any speciality to have nearly half of its physicians recognized as Top Doctors.

The Top Doctors listing is compiled annually by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. — an established healthcare research company based in New York City. The organization also compiles Atlanta magazine’s list of Top Doctors annually. Doctors are nominated for consideration through both a nationwide survey and a peer nomination process open to licensed physicians in DeKalb, Fulton, Cobb, Clayton, and Gwinnett counties. Castle Connolly’s physician-led team of researchers then select the Top Doctors through a rigorous peer review screening process that includes an evaluation of educational and professional experience.
