Independent Pharmacy in Loganville Delivers With Chain Stores Nearby

Freedom Pharmacy on Main Street will deliver medications within a reasonable perimeter and bubble package and color code medications for patients.

“You may wonder why we are located so close to two other pharmacies – CVS and Walgreens,” Tope Afron, co-owner of Freedom Pharmacy in Loganville, told the members of TRIAD when she was guest speaker at the January meeting. “You may wonder – but we actually work together nicely.”

Afron said there are some things that they can’t provide their customers that CVS and Walgreens can, and in those instances they refer their customers to the larger pharmacy chains. However, that works in the reverse too. As an independent parmacy, there are services that they can provide to area residents and in those instances the larger pharmacies return the favor.

“Our personalized service is what we bring to our customers,” Afron said. “With us you have a pharmacist who knows you personally. Timothy (Afron) is the pharmacist. He has 25 years of experience  - 10 years of it working in one retail company. Being an independent pharmacy, the pharmacist is the owner of the store and he is able to do some things that the larger pharmacies can’t. It is a ministry – it is what is in your heart to do. Sometimes he goes out of his way to do things that another pharmacy might not be able to.”

One of the things that Freedom Pharmacy does is provide bubble packaging with color-coding of medications for patients who have several medications that have to be taken at regular intervals.

Tina Anderson, who owns and operates Willow Ridge, a personal care home on Main Street with six residents, said she wholeheartedly endorsed the services of Freedom Pharmacy - especially the bubble packaging service for medications that helped her keep track of the medications for her residents.

“And we deliver your medications to you for free – you can call Mr. Tim and he will deliver for you. We also supply generics for $3.50 – not $4.00," Afron said. ”We also have vet formulations for pet owners that we do as part of our over the counter service."

Freedom Pharmacy, located on Main Street in Loganville, is a full service drug and health supply store and accepts most insurance.

Freedom Pharmacy owners Tope and Tim Afron live in Grayson and have done for several years. They have a son who is a student at the University of Georgia and a daughter at Grayson High School.
