Four Duluth Artists Homes on Tour

The walking tour will feature four homes belonging to artists in downtown Duluth . Also, two artists will demonstrate their varied talents in each home.

Four homes belonging to artists in downtown Duluth will be featured during the second annual Artists in the Homes Tour from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. Eight visual, performing and culinary artists will demonstrate their talents inside the homes on the walking tour.

The “Artists in the Homes Tour” is an initiative of the Duluth Fine Arts League (DFAL). On the tour will be a condominium home featuring extensive hand painting, a townhome that overlooks the fountain on the Duluth Town Green, and two historic homes dating back to the mid-1800s on West Lawrenceville Street.

The tour will begin at 5:45 p.m. in Duluth City Hall where ticket holders will be provided with information on each home, the artists, and a map to each location. All homes are within walking distance of City Hall.

Proceeds from the tour benefit DFAL’s scholarship fund for high school students planning to major in art at college.

Along the way, tour participants can view windows decorated by Main Street merchants for the Holiday Window Contest.

Sponsors for the tour include the Georgia Trails at Sugarloaf, Peace, Love and Decorating; Huthmaker Violins, Rain, The Salon; Chocolate Perks, 2 Smith Gallery, and New Dawn Theater.

Tickets at $20 each are on sale now at Duluth City Hall, Hardeman Fine Art Glass and Gwinnett Community Bank. The event will take place rain or shine. For more information, call 770-476-7328.
