TV News: Chandler Massey Nominated for Emmy

The former Peachtree Corners resident stars in "Days of Our Lives," and has been nominated for a third time.

For Peachtree Corners former resident, Chandler Massey, life keeps getting sweeter by the day.

The former drama student at Norcross High has made it to the big league. He stars in the long-running daytime drama, "Days of Our Lives," and has been nominated for an Emmy for the third time. The awards take place on June 18.

Massey, whose parents Lewis and Amy Massey live in Peachtree Corners, won his first Daytime Emmy in 2012. This year is the third time he's been nominated.

"It feels great," said 22-year-old Massey in a report published by PEOPLE. "It's a huge honor and I'd love to have another piece of hardware but we'll see what happens in June."

Massey, who also has a movie to add to his credits ("16-Love debuted in January 2012), plays a gay character named Will Horton. This past season his character came out of the closet, had a relationship with another man and in a story twist now finds out his ex-girlfriend is pregnant with his child.

Massey, who has been starring on the daytime drama since 2009, said he has no fear of being typecast. "It's been an actor's dream," he said.

"When they called my name last year, I was crazy nervous and didn't hear it because my heart was beating so fast," Massey told the magazine. "My dad leaned over, I could feel him pounding me on the chest, saying 'Go, go go.' This year, I won't be as nervous!"
