Gladiators Succumb To Everblades, 3-1

The Gwinnett Gladiators succumbed to the Florida Everblades, 3-1 during Sunday's game.

Duluth, GA - The Gwinnett Gladiators succumbed 3-1 to a strong Florida defense on the final night of "Pink In The Rink" weekend on Sunday. 

The Gladiators had 40 shots on the goal with only one making it in the net. Florida scored three times on 25 shots on goal. Gladiators forward Joey Haddad (27) scored the team's only goal with 9:46 remaining in the first period.  Sunday's loss was the second one in a row against Florida this weekend.  However, the Gladiators did win Friday's game against Wheeling. 

The Everblades struck first, 6 minutes, 7 seconds into the first period. With 3:57 remaining in the second period Florida scored again taking a one-goal lead. Nineteen seconds later, Florida took a two-goal lead. The Gladiators did hold off the Everblades during the third period with neither team scoring although Gwinnett took over 20 shots on the goal.

The Gladiators now head to Florida Tuesday to mark the beginning of a nine away games.  The Gladiators will host Orlando on Friday, March 15th at Gwinnett Arena.
