Scarlett O'Hara Themed English Tea Party Planned in Grayson

There will be a Scarlett O'Hara themed English Afternoon Tea at the Grayson Senior Center on Saturday afternoon. The event, however, is already completely sold out.

This is a typically English Afternoon Tea served between l and 3 pm Saturday, hosted b the Grayson Arts and History Center.

"We start with our homemade scones (a feather light sweet biscuit) served with our own Devonshire cream and lemon curd. Then a light meal follows which feature tea sandwiches, salad, and a chicken dish and always served with lots of Irish Breakfast Tea. Then dessert," said Barbara Hinkle, directory of the Grayson Arts and History Center. "It is a Scarlett O"Hara theme and will be decorated with Scarlett O"Hara dolls and magnolia leaves.

Hinkle said "Scarlett" herself is scheduled to visit between the main meal and dessert.

"Jill Cremens, appearing as Scarlett, will share some historical info about sewing techniques from the Mid 1800's, trivia, and some details about the creation of her dress," Hinkle said. "We have guests coming from Braselton, Conyers, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, and all around the community and we feel this will be a fun and enjoyable day."

This Tea will be held at Grayson Senior Center, next to the Grayson City Hall. The event sold out early, but Hinkle said information will be put out prior to future tea events.
