Grayson outfielder Austin Meadows is the best high school baseball player in Georgia, according of a state-by-state listing of the country's top talent compiled by MaxPreps.
Here’s what MaxPreps had to say about the left-hander:
"Meadows could be the top high school position player chosen in the MLB Draft. He was named All-County by the Gwinnett Daily Post last year after batting .390 with 19 stolen bases, 4 home runs, 28 RBIs and 33 runs scored."
Meadows, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound Clemson University signee, led Grayson to the large-school (then Class AAAAA) semifinals last season.
He also was a member of the Team USA Under-16 team in 2011.
Grayson opens its season Feb. 16 at Winder-Barrow.
