Gas South and Clean Energy offer CNG savings with new Hondas
Gas South is joining Honda and Clean Energy to promote sales of compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles by offering savings to Georgia residents.
Honda customers will receive a pre-loaded $3,000 fuel card when they purchase a new 2012 Honda Civic Natural Gas. The card may be used to fill up at any Clean Energy fueling station. Gas South, Georgia’s fastest growing natural gas provider, supplies natural gas to Clean Energy stations in Atlanta, East Point, Tucker and Lithonia.
Gas South is also offering its customers $200 worth of free natural gas for their home when they purchase a CNG vehicle.
“We are excited that Clean Energy and Honda are highlighting the economic and environmental benefits of CNG vehicles through this promotion,” Gas South President and CEO Kevin Greiner said. “Gas South is committed to sustainability and will continue working with Clean Energy to provide accessible fueling stations for our CNG customers.”
On average, CNG fuel offers savings of up to 50 percent compared to gasoline and produces 90 percent fewer emissions than most gasoline or diesel vehicles.
These benefits, combined with the $2,500 state income tax credit and ability to ride as a single occupant in Georgia’s HOV lanes, have sparked interest in CNG vehicles among Georgia commuters.
The promotion is available through Jan. 2, 2013 at participating Honda dealers in Duluth, Buford and Gainesville.
